After weeks in the garage doing wiring, metal fabrication and installing a bash plate, rear rack, new handle bars, and hand guards, it was time to celebrate. So on Sunday we went out for a ride to Bear Mountain, a 110 mile loop. This was AN’s second outting on Rick. From her reaction, I think the choice of bike was perfect. The light weight and shorter seat height have given her a much greater confidence. By the way, for those of you studying the picture, yes, An does currently have both the factory mirrors and the Highway Dirt Bike mirrors on the bike. She likes to make sure she has a wide view in NYC traffic.
Now we can spend our weekends packing and riding and not in the hot garage working on bikes. That is the best reward of all. Wait, I was planning on installing an air pre filter and doing something about that paper air filter on the XT. Damn it, it is a never ending processes. Zeno’s paradox does come to mind here.
